A global business simulation competition where teams from around the world learned about sustainable business growth, competed for awards, and practiced dealing with the dilemmas of competing ESG goals using the Sustain2Win simulation platform.
About The Competition
The Sustainability World Cup is a gamified learning experience created by Professor Leila Bardasuc and Edmund Bradford, designed to help participants understand sustainability and practice dealing with the dilemmas of competing business goals.
The competition used the Sustain2Win simulation where teams ran virtual beverage companies, making crucial financial and sustainable business decisions. The algorithm meticulously assessed inputs and provided valuable feedback, enhancing understanding of sustainability fundamentals, ESG metrics, and sustainable business strategy.
My Experience
"I had the opportunity to participate in the Sustainability World Cup 2024. The competition provided an immersive experience where my team and I, along with participants from 17 countries, engaged in making crucial financial and sustainable business decisions for our fictional brand, Kuipers. The Sustainability World Cup not only sharpened our skills but also encouraged a collaborative spirit. Simulation is a powerful tool for learning about sustainability in a practical, engaging way!"

- Produced 3 years' worth of profit and loss statements based on sustainability strategies
- Competed globally for Best Sustainability Performance awards
Recognition & Awards
The 2024 Sustainability World Cup was recognized as one of the best sustainability programs in Europe, receiving great media coverage including features on News Central TV and Nigerian Tribune. The competition's success led to an even larger 2025 edition with more participants, partners, a podcast series, and keynote presentations.
