Zapier: Turn a Typeform into a HubSpot Ticket

Build idea, not a verified tutorial. This was drafted by an automation Daniel built. Tool interfaces change often — check the current docs before relying on the steps.

When a customer submits a support request through a form, someone on the team has to manually read the email notification and create a ticket (a trackable record of the problem) inside HubSpot. That step is easy to miss, especially when things get busy. This Zap does it the moment the form lands — every time, without fail.

Build a simple support form in Typeform

A Typeform is an online form tool. Sign up free at typeform.com, then click + Create new and choose Start from scratch. Add three questions: the customer's name, their email address, and a long-text question asking them to describe their issue. Click Publish in the top-right corner when done — you need a live form before Zapier can listen to it.

Create a new Zap in Zapier

A Zap is an automated workflow in Zapier. It has two parts: a trigger (the event that starts things off) and one or more actions (what Zapier does next). Sign up free at zapier.com, then in the left sidebar click + Create and select Zap workflows from the dropdown. The Zap editor opens in a new tab.

Set the trigger: New Entry in Typeform

The trigger is the event Zapier watches for. Click the Trigger step in the Zap editor. In the search box that opens, type *Typeform* and select it. Click the Event dropdown and choose New Entry — this fires every time someone submits your form. Click Continue, then connect your Typeform account when prompted. Finally, pick your support form from the dropdown and click Test trigger so Zapier pulls in a sample submission to use in later steps.

Add Action 1: Create or Update Contact in HubSpot

Now Zapier needs to make sure the person who filled in the form exists as a contact (a person record) in HubSpot. Click the + button below the trigger to add an action. Search for *HubSpot* and select it. Set the Action event to Create or Update Contact — this creates a new contact if the email is new, or updates the existing one. Connect your HubSpot account, then in the Configure tab map the Typeform fields to HubSpot: drag the *email answer* into the Email field, and the *name answer* into First Name.

Add Action 2: Create a Ticket in HubSpot

A ticket in HubSpot is a record that tracks a customer problem from open to resolved. Click + again to add a second action. Select HubSpot and set the Action event to Create Ticket. In the Configure tab, set the Ticket Name by clicking into the field and selecting the *issue description* answer from Typeform (Zapier shows all the data from earlier steps as clickable tokens). Set Pipeline to your support pipeline and Ticket Status to *New*. This is where your team will work the issue.

Test the Zap end-to-end, then publish

Click Test step on each action — Zapier will actually create a contact and a ticket in HubSpot using the sample data. Open HubSpot and check that both appeared correctly under Contacts and Tickets. If everything looks right, click Publish in the top-right corner of the Zap editor. From this moment on, every Typeform submission automatically creates a tracked HubSpot ticket with no extra effort from you.

What you get

You end up with a live Zap that turns every Typeform support submission into a HubSpot ticket in seconds — complete with the customer's contact record already linked. Your team opens HubSpot and sees a tidy queue to work through, no inbox-scanning required. Rough effort: ~1.5 hours, free tiers on Zapier (up to 100 tasks/month) and HubSpot (Service Hub free includes tickets); Typeform free plan allows one form.
